Here is a sketch of my nieces that I will get to see soon!!! I’m pretty excited.
I started to paint this, but I decided I didn’t like the direction I was going in so I’m going to start over. Wanted to keep it simple, but things started to get overworked.
I don’t know why I’ve suddenly decided to started painting more…
I painted a pretty lady. Lady is gouache. Background is acrylic. A lot of thins didn’t quite turn out as I had expected, but I was basically making it up as I went along. Go with the flow! I enjoy experimenting and not worrying about whether or not the outcome will be perfect. Helps to me to just enjoy and learn instead of worrying about trying to accomplish something.
Here is todays experiment. I actually have some work to do over the next couple days, so I may just be putting up random sketches instead of colored things.
Side note, I wish I could just go into a dance class or something and just watch people and draw. Need more dancer inspiration! and poses that I can use as reference that aren’t from copyrighted images :/ I’m scared of using some awesome pics I see to create artwork because my goal is to eventually put out a book of dancer sketches. Seems like it wouldn’t be fair me to to try to make money off of someone else’s awesome dancer photography. Or maybe there is a fine line there that will make it ok. Copyright is scary.

My post of shame last night worked! I finished things! I’ve been collecting a lot of brushes and hadn’t really used them until now. I’ve also been watching a lot of pokemon. So here is Misty painted with an awesome watercolor brush, and the other is a mixture of some other brushes I’ve found. I’m really excited to keep experimenting with the watercolor brush. I miss doing real watercolors but I don’t have the supplies on me at the time. This specific water color brush is by Kyle T. Webster: https://gumroad.com/kyletwebster
I also used his Mr. Natural brush which is literally my most favorite thing ever!!! When my funds get better I will be buying his brush packs. Kyle’s brushes are AMAZING.
